In the evening, attend a briefing with the Evya Adventures managers to prepare for the trek ahead. -
Day 2: Trekking from Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
After meeting your guide and mountain support team, travel to Marangu Gate, the eastern entrance to Kilimanjaro National Park. Complete formalities and begin your trek through the rainforest to Mandara Hut (2,720 m / 8,922 ft). The journey covers approximately 11 km and takes 5–6 hours. Stay overnight in comfortable huts, enjoying lunch prepared by the mountain support crew. Focus on acclimatization by staying hydrated and monitoring your body’s response to altitude. -
Day 3: Trekking from Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Depart Mandara Hut after breakfast and trek to Horombo Hut (3,720 m / 12,202 ft), covering about 11 km in 6 hours. After lunch, take a short acclimatization hike toward Kibo Hut, gaining 200 m in altitude before returning to Horombo Hut for dinner. This extra hike supports your body’s adaptation to higher elevations and increases your chances of a successful summit. Overnight is in the high-altitude hut. -
Day 4: Trekking from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
After breakfast, continue trekking to Kibo Hut (4,720 m / 15,482 ft) over a distance of 10 km, taking approximately 4–8 hours. Upon arrival, have lunch and rest extensively, hydrating well to prepare for the summit attempt. Evening activity is minimal to conserve energy. -
Day 5: Trekking to Uhuru Peak and Descent to Horombo Hut
Depart Kibo Hut at night for the final ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m / 19,336 ft). Your guides will accompany you in pairs to monitor pace and ensure safety. After reaching the summit, descend to Kibo Hut for a brief rest, then continue down to Horombo Hut (3,720 m / 12,202 ft). Total trekking distance for the day is approximately 16 km over 9–12 hours. Take care during descent as most trekking accidents occur during this stage. -
Day 6: Descent from Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
Enjoy breakfast before descending to Marangu Gate (1,970 m / 6,462 ft), covering 18 km in 5–6 hours. Upon arrival, celebrate your achievement with fellow climbers, sign the guestbook, receive your commemorative certificate, and transfer back to the hotel for overnight rest. -
